Why is this test important?
Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) are 50 times more common in women
The condition ranges from cystitis (a mild but disturbing inflammation that is limited to the bladder) to severe infections of the kidneys
70% of all UTI's are usually caused by the bacteria E coli from the patients own bowels
Along with the most common urine infection symptoms this test detects indirect signs of an infection such as protein, nitrite and leukocytes not normally present in urine.
How do I perform this test?
Collect a small sample of urine in a clean container and immerse a single test strip into the urine making sure all 3 test fields are totally immersed.
What do the results mean?
The test will detect protetin, nitrite and leukocytes in your urine.
If protein is present, that test panel will go blue/green.
If nitrites are present, that test panel will go purple.
If leukocytes are present, that test panel will go pink.
